Advanced Higher Education For Battery Lifecycle And Sustainability

The BTRexpert Project aims to contribute to the environmental, social, and economic sustainability of the battery sector by developing an innovative, cross-disciplinary educational program. This initiative addresses the critical need for sustainable battery lifecycle management and recycling by combining expertise in engineering, materials science, and IT solutions.

A modular e-learning course with five comprehensive modules is developed to equip students and professionals with essential knowledge and skills. These modules cover fundamental principles, material sourcing, recycling processes, applications of recycled materials, and practical case studies. The project focuses on fostering green and digital competencies, promoting sustainability values, and addressing skill mismatches identified in the battery sector.

BTRexpert also aims to establish the “Battery Reuse Expert” professional profile, enabling participants to analyze technical challenges, propose innovative solutions, and maximize the reuse and recycling of battery components. This effort aligns with the European Green Deal’s goals and supports the transition to a circular economy.

Through collaboration among academic and industrial partners, the project develops accessible, user-friendly training materials, a digital toolbox, and coaching methodologies, ensuring impact and applicability across various sectors.
